Parent & Family FAQs
Is Algebra Nation really free for my son/daughter?
Yes! If your son or daughter is an Algebra 1 student in Michigan, Algebra Nation is absolutely free.
How are the Algebra Nation instructional videos different from other tutoring videos?
Algebra Nation’s videos break down each featured problem and allow students to select their own Study Expert, so they can move at a pace and with a teaching style that works for them. And, with their accompanying workbook, they can also follow along with each problem. If they get stuck, they can ask questions on the interactive Wall and, if they want extra practice before a test, they can use the Test Yourself! Practice Tool, too!
No other tool offers such comprehensive, standards aligned materials to support all kinds of learners.
How does my son/daughter get access to Algebra Nation?
Thanks to support from the state legislature, Michigan public school districts, their teachers, and students can all obtain access to Algebra Nation free of charge.
Contact Marlene@AlgebraNation.com for information on how to get your son or daughter’s district set up so your student can log in to Algebra Nation.
If your local district has already joined Algebra Nation, your son/daughter can log in using his/her district credentials.
The videos aren’t loading. What should we do?
Make sure you are using the latest versions of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to watch the Algebra Nation videos. These browsers work best with Algebra Nation. If you see a red or yellow button appear as you watch the videos, your connection may be too slow and you may need to find a stronger internet connection.
