Multiple evaluations of the Algebra Nation platform show that increased usage of the platform is connected with increased proficiency across every student subgroup, including students receiving free/reduced-price lunch, every racial and ethnic group, and students with disabilities. Further, these findings hold at the school, group, and individual levels.

The Institute for Education Sciences awarded UF a $8.9 million dollar grant to continue to study, create, and test enhanced personalization features in the online platform to further improve student experiences, ultimately accelerating student learning and enhancing performance. Thus, this already effective resource is continually evolving to incorporate more evidence-based strategies, becoming a stronger tool in support students’ learning of mathematics.

Algebra Nation is improving students’ performance in algebra, a key gatekeeper course to success in college and careers. A University of Florida study found that Algebra Nation produced significant increases in schools’ average scores and pass rates on Florida’s Algebra 1 End of Course Exam.

Since Algebra Nation was introduced to all districts in Florida in 2012, statewide pass rates have improved 7%.

Students in key demographics who used Algebra Nation in schools and summer programs have increased their pass rates dramatically.
