InDesign Contractor
Our Curriculum Production team is seeking to build its contractor team with individuals experienced with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, to assist with generating content for our printed textbooks.
Copyediting Contractor
Position Purpose
The successful candidate will provide production support, specifically in the area of copyediting, to the Manager of Copyediting.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Responsibilities include reviewing and copyediting content for K–12 science and math curriculum, adhering to the style and standards of the in-house style guide as well as The Chicago Manual of Style, maintaining the project’s tracker in Google Sheets, and providing feedback on content issues and most common writing mistakes found in documents.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in English or writing or an alternative writing/editing certification
- At least two years of history providing professional editing services
- Ability to keep a detailed, focused eye on heavy content
- Excellent grammar and usage knowledge
- Knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS)
- Knowledge and comfortability with working in Google Drive, Slides, Docs, and Sheets
- Ability to manage projects and work under strict deadlines without losing focus or quality of work
- Completion of an editing test with high accuracy
Digital Formatting & Publishing Contractor
We are seeking to build out our publishing team by bringing on some remote consultant positions (contractors) who can assist us with various digital publishing and document formatting needs.
STEM Campus Leadership Coach (Contract / Consultant)
This part-time, contracting position supports NISE certification programs by facilitating and supporting the work of campuses as they participate in the National Certificate for STEM Excellence certification program. The NISE Campus STEM Leadership coaches assume responsibility for guiding campuses through the NCSE, ensuring that they successfully complete all program requirements and have a high quality learning experience. Professional Development Trainer (Contract / Consultant)
Accelerate Learning is the parent company for STEMscopes and the National Institute for STEM Education. Graphics and Vector Illustration Contractor
This position is freelance and remote based, you may work from any location. You will be responsible for creating vector-based graphics and illustrations while conforming to our company style guidelines. Work ranges from simple charts and graphs, to detailed scientific drawings, to complex illustration style graphics.
Responsibilities
- Create education related vector illustrations based on requests from our development team
- Edit and update existing artwork based on feedback
- Follow style guide rules for illustration creation
- Upload vector and rendered versions of images to our archive
Requirements
- 2+ years vector-based graphic design or illustration experience
- A strong portfolio of illustrations and other graphics
- Expertise in Adobe Illustrator
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Familiarity with Google office suite (Google Drive, Sheets) a plus
