Is Algebra Nation really free?
Yes! If you’re an Algebra 1 teacher in MCPSS, Algebra Nation is free for you and your students.
How are the Algebra Nation instructional videos different from other tutoring videos?
Algebra Nation’s videos break down each featured problem and allow students to select their own Study Expert, so they can move at a pace and with a teaching style that works for them. And, with their accompanying workbook, they can also follow along with each problem. If they get stuck, they can ask questions on the interactive Wall and, if they want extra practice before a test, they can use the Test Yourself! Practice Tool, too!
No other tool offers such comprehensive, standards aligned materials to support all kinds of learners.
This sounds great, but does it work?
For information on Algebra Nation’s mission and the impact Algebra Nation has on student learning, check out our About Us and Impact pages. We are proud of the results we’ve had to date, but there’s always room for us to improve. How can I get started?

If you’re not an MCPSS teacher, we are unfortunately not able to offer you access to Algebra Nation this year. We hope to be able to make Algebra Nation available for the whole state in the future! To express your interest (and help make this a reality) email us at help@AlgebraNation.com.
I am an MCPSS teacher and I have forgotten my username/password. Help!
You should have received your username and password from your principal or district staff. Please check with them to retrieve your log-in information.
If you have your username and password but are having trouble accessing the Algebra Nation app, please email help@AlgebraNation.com.
How do I get linked to my students so I can see what videos they’ve watched, run reports on their performance on the Test Yourself! Tool, etc.?
With Algebra Nation, there is no need for teachers to add students to your rosters or for students to enter in a code to link themselves to you. This process is automatically done for you. If you are a teacher and do not see your algebra classes in the “Reports” section when you log in to the Teacher Area, please email help@AlgebraNation.com for assistance.
My videos aren’t loading. What do I do?
Make sure you are using the latest versions of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to watch the Algebra Nation videos. These browsers work the best with Algebra Nation. If you see a red or yellow button appear as you watch the videos, your connection may be too slow and you may need to find a stronger internet connection. If you are still having issues with the videos, please email help@AlgebraNation.com.
Are there answer keys for the videos/workbook?
Yes! You can find answer keys in the Teacher Area. Login now to check them out!
My classroom doesn’t have 1-to-1 devices and/or many of my students don’t have internet access at home.
To use Algebra Nation in school without 1-to-1 devices:
If you have just one terminal in your classroom, there are still many ways you can incorporate Algebra Nation videos into your lessons. For example, you can show short clips to complement your instruction to the class, or show a whole video to some students while you work in the corner with a small group of students. Many teachers have had success with these approaches. You can also post this question on the Teacher Wall when you log in to see what other great ideas your colleagues from across the state have to offer.
To help your students who don’t have regular home internet access:
We find that students often have a sibling, parent or grandparent who has a smart phone or tablet (we make sure that Algebra Nation works on any iPhone, iPad or Android device from the last five years) and is willing to let them download the app for at-home use. If students have a device but no internet at home, you can recommend that they use free wifi at your local library or local businesses.
I have a suggestion that would make your resources better. How can I submit it?
Send it our way! We rely on good ideas from educators and students to consistently improve our resources. Please send any ideas or suggestions to us at help@AlgebraNation.com or give us a call at 888-608-MATH.
- I have a question that is not addressed in these FAQs. What should I do?
Is Algebra Nation a mandatory curriculum or program?
Algebra Nation is not state mandated. However, it is fully aligned to the Mathematics Florida Standards (MAFS, which are also used in Alabama) and can be used both inside and outside of the classroom in a variety of ways. Algebra Nation offers comprehensive resources for all algebra topics and can serve as a primary curriculum or as a supplement to a district’s current curriculum.
